Adjectives

Adjectives:

- Adjectives do not agree in number with nouns.

Adjective Modifiers:

- Adjectives can change in degree by adding the suffixes “-’tave” (very) or “-’tam” (too).

Examples:

- Very strange
netril’tave

- Too strange
netril’tam

Comparative:

- In comparative form, adjectives will receive the ending “-’di”.
- The comparative conjunction is “de qe” (than).
- The structure “the more… the more…” is expressed as “vro… lu…”.

Examples:

- Good
yurior

- Better
yurior’di

- You are better than me
luva yurior’di de qe yiva
[you better than me]

- The more you live, the more you know
vro lanor’di luva aliga, lu lanor’di luva delva
[how more you live, such more you know]

Superlative:

- In superlative form, adjectives will receive the ending “-’dilu”.
- The article is mandatory in the superlative form.

Examples:

- Good
yurior

- (The) Best
ina yurior’dilu

- You are the best
luva ina yurior’dilu

- You are the best friend
luva ina yurior’dilu inrimno
